My art is a mirror of my life. Although we know a reflection is always the opposite of what is actually there. This implies that when my art is viewed, it is with a certain misunderstanding that one feels when one is not quite seen or heard.
My art is a dialogue of semiotics, that drifts through areas of my past and present dealing with the language - culture of post colonialism in New Zealand. I am a dislocated Diaspora of southern lands, reflecting the sometimes difficult, yet passionate position of a person of settler culture from the antipodes.
